LEARNING GOAL: Demonstrate principles of improvisation in scene based games.
DO NOW: Random Word Generator You will get a random noun. Be that noun. Make choices and commit to them. 1) All Together. Start in a standing circle. The teacher will generate a word (a noun), and everyone will become that word. Repeat 5 times. 2) Individual. Form a single file line. Everyone takes a turn getting a word and becoming the word. Go through the line twice. PLAY: A random name will be spun on our name wheel. The selected player can choose a scene partner(s) and a game to play. Delete names of absent students, and delete names after they have played. (Names that aren’t on the wheel can still be chosen as scene partners.) Students can pass once. Game options include... -Lines From a Hat (2 players) -What? (2 players) -Dimestore Novelist (4 players) -Countdown (3 players) FEEDBACK: During the games, the teacher will take notes on audience behavior with the lens of our rubric.

Please notice there is an "other" section as well. PLAY: Subway When you are ready to enter the subway car, you need to silently share your character idea w/Mr. Hanlon using the Classroom document.
