THINK/PAIR/SHARE: What concerns do middle school students deal with? Yesterday, we looked at a scenario with a student who was falling asleep in class because of stress that was happening at home. What else could be addressed with interactive theater? 1) What challenges do you see your peers deal with at school? 2) What causes problems within friend groups? 3) What causes stress at home? CLASS DISCUSSION: Which of the TPS ideas seem most relatable? Or easiest to connect to interactive theater? STUDIO TIME: Work with 1-2 partners to write a script based on one of the above. Your script should have... 1) A protagonist who can be replaced by the audience. 2) The protagonist must deal with a clear problem. 3) The protagonist's problem leads to a bad outcome (not death though!). 4) The protagonist must make some decisions about how to handle their issue. 5) There should be no more than 3-4 other characters. 6) Include one scene that shows the root problem, and one scene that shows consequences of that problem and choices around it. (Doesn't have to be in that order.)
